NEBA – Continues to be The Trusted Voice of the Mitigation Banking Industry

National Environmental Banking Association’s (NEBA’s) continued and solitary focus on environmental banking grows from a respect for the environmental and economic superiority of mitigation and conservation banking for solving some of our nation's most challenging environmental issues.

Over the past year, NEBA has continued to press Washington for improvement in permit processing times for Mitigation Banking Instruments (MBIs) which according to U.S. Army Corps study take well longer than any other type of permit processed by the Agency. Important steps have recently been made in Congress to reinforce the mitigation hierarchy and the Rule at a time when proponents of lower-quality mitigation continue working aggressively to weaken the mitigation banking industry's standards for quality and reliability.

NEBA continues to promote the highest professional standards and to represent the very best businesses in the environmental banking industry.

NEBA was founded and continues through today centered on three guiding principles -

  • Integrity
  • Transparency
  • Accountability

We have sought to consistently build member benefits and to solve member problems. NEBA keeps its costs down and membership dues low, relying on strong volunteer efforts to continue much of its high-quality outreach, education, and membership support.

The growing number of government members at NEBA is a demonstration of the collaborative nature of the Association as well as its importance as a source of industry news and feedback.

In the year ahead, NEBA will continue to provide access to the experts, with opportunities for questions from our members. We will be working directly with regulatory agencies to improve the implementation of existing policies and practices. We will work on legislative issues, while providing the best available tools and information to our industry.

NEBA's mission is more relevant and vital today than at any time in confronting the new threats being posed for the industry.
